PATHOLOGY MUSEUM

The museum pathology museum located in the grounds of Tikur Anbessa specialized university hospital, CHS Addis Ababa University contains close to 300 fascinating collection of glass embedded specimens of diseased organs, several historical images and rich collection of microfilms showing images of histopathologic findings. The pathology museum is one of its kind in Ethiopia, established in 1974, the museum was functional and used for training of undergraduate and post graduate medical students for decades until it was closed around early 2000 due to deterioration of its condition. It was recently renovated with funds acquired from a generous benefactor, the late Minister of Health H.E. Dr. Kebede Tadesse Belay. The aim is to reopen the museum to the university community, medical and non-medical students, staff, to middle and high school students who are interested in joining the medical field as well as to the public at large.
